Ladies & Gentlemen,
I hope everyone enjoyed our event this year. Anna and I were disappointed we couldn’t attend. My Bad. I’ll [try to] be a more conscientious with my calendar next year.
Feedback tells me the event went well. That means those who attended had a good time seeing & visiting with old friends and associates. Best I can tell we had 86 in attendance this year.
It was great to hear we had some new retirees with us. And, we had some ‘seasoned’ retirees from the Houston area who were able to attend for the first time. Please, let’s continue to let folks know about our annual event. There are a lot of folks still who don’t know we do this.
Thanks SO MUCH again to Shell Pipe for funding the event & for sharing Pipe’s business picture. I’ve heard that Kevin’s business update was very good. Sounds like our retirement $’s safe – well at least part of it. Thanks also to Peyton & Jill for coming and being a part of our event. And, Thanks also to Barbara Braud for helping me get things done.
I especially want to thank Jimmy Prince for stepping in to MC the event. He tells me we’re still the ornery bunch we’ve always been – i.e., it took some time to stop the visiting and git-r-dun. Sounds like many of the meetings I attended over the years I worked for SPLC. But, we realize visiting is an essential part of our gatherings.
Next I need to thank Wiley Brewer & Wade Cothran for the help they provided in setting up the place, in my place. And, for the pictures. These can be viewed by clicking on this link – PICTURES. Last, but not least, thanks to Bob Darwin for his help preparing & maintaining the name tags.
Next year we plan to stay with the FIRST WEDNESDAY IN MARCH.
MARCH 6th, 2019
We may do a luncheon at Maggiano’s again next year. But, we may do our event in another venue. So, please pay close attention to next year’s notice – in case things do change.
If your email address changes please let me know. Email is the only communication tool we use. Use dankite3@gmail.com to contact me. Please, DO NOT USE TEXTS to communicate. I can't manage our event attendance records using texts.
Finally, Wiley seems to have gotten the funds needed to keep the SPLC-R website running for another year. Thanks for your donations!
Have a Blessed year!
Take Care & God Bless, Dan
