SPLC RETIREE’S “MIR” (MISSING IN RETIREMENT) PAGE
The SPLC Retiree’s “MIR” (Missing In Retirement) Page has been established to continue our “SPLC Family” efforts to improve our communication, identifying and locating missing retirees whether living or deceased. We have made it a policy not to publish anyone’s address, home phone/cell numbers, Email addresses and company names on the SPLC Web Site without their information being volunteered by each individual through the “Contact Us” Page or by prior verbal approval given to us and/or information that’s been made public. Recently, upon request we have started to add retiree’s names and information on the “Email List” Page (our contact list) that don’t have an Email address and/or use a computer.
Our goal is to encourage everyone to sign up on the SPLC Web Site in order to be kept aware of our fellow retiree’s status, updates of interest and locate the names and information of the deceased. Since some may not know about the SPLC Web Site, we ask that you encourage each retiree that you know to sign up. Hopefully most will sign up.
Each one of us has a piece of information to offer from the many SPLC employees and retirees that we worked with over the past years of our pipeline history. We all worked with different work groups, time periods, locations and had our own circle of pipeliner friends and your help is needed in sharing what information you have or can remember with us. Remember this is your Web Site and you are the eyes and ears as our reporters. We have made a very strong attempt to obtain reliable retiree data for the Web Site. Any older copies of SPLC names and telephone listings, old Go Devils and SPLC articles that might be available could furnish us with full names, initials, nicknames and death dates could be helpful in our pursuit of information. If you have some information and would like to Email it to us or make photocopies, you can send them to Jim Prince and it will be greatly appreciated.
We (Wiley Brewer and Jim Prince) want to thank you for your past, present, future input, support, phone calls and Emails in keeping this SPLC Web Site up to date and ongoing.
As the Pipeliner story goes when the pipeline crew arrived at the field leak site, it dawned on them that they had left all of their shovels at the maintenance shop. The crew immediately radioed their foreman and advised him of their situation. He radioed back that was not a problem and advised them to just lean on one another until the shovels arrive on site. We are still leaning on one another to this day!
We have started an ongoing incomplete list of living and deceased retiree’s names with limited information in order to obtain and locate some of our “MIR’s”. Remember that we are looking for more complete information and that names and information listed may be nicknames, not complete names, incorrect names, incorrect dates, incorrect locations and/or misspelled. For example, those of us who worked in West Texas, worked with six employees or more named “Red” and those employees are hard to find information on without full names or initials.
Once the living retirees sign up on the Web Site “Email List” (contact page) their names will be removed from the ‘MIR’ list and the deceased retiree’s complete information is found they will be also removed and added to the Memorial Page. Keep in mind that we are trying not to forget one of our “SPLC Family” members. For your review of this spreadsheet list, please click on the highlighted “MIR’ link below or above this text:
